BOOK READING ROULETTE

I got this idea from a beauty/ panning YouTube channel called Megsmakeup08. She has a really long list of prompts - like over 100 items - of different things to put into a roulette-style project pan. (If you're not sure what a project pan is, wait until January when more beauty posts start coming at you.) These prompts are things like "something you bought at Sephora" and "your least favorite blush" - something where you can narrow down something to grab.

I'm making my own list for a similar challenge I may pose to myself later in 2017. The general premise is the same in this challenge: write them all on bits of paper, put them in a bowl, decide how many you're going to draw out, and find a title based on that prompt. In case you're interested in doing something similar this year, keep on reading.

  1. Something with your favorite color on the cover.
  2. A title you had to read in school that you loved.
  3. A title you had to read in school that you hated.
  4. The first book in a series.
  5. One of your all-time favorite books.
  6. Something you loved in school.
  7. Something you've read more than once but gotten more out of each time.
  8. A book from your favorite genre.
  9. A book you've heard good things about but haven't read.
  10. A book not in your current collection.
  11. A book that's been on your shelf for a while but you haven't read.
  12. A book that's not in your favorite genre but you're still intrigued by.
  13. Something with ghosts involved.
  14. A nonfiction title.
  15. A fantasy novel.
  16. Something by an author you haven't liked before.
  17. Something by an author you love.
  18. A work by a beloved author that you haven't read yet.
  19. A recent release.
  20. Something that's considered a classic that you haven't read yet.
  21. A release that's relevant to your line of work. (for example, I work in a museum, so either something related to the museum's focus or to the Professional Museum field)
  22. A novel that's been hyped up that you're not excited for.
  23. A collection of short stories.
  24. A collection of poems.
  25. A work that was released in the same year you were born. Bonus points if it was your birth month.

I may add to this as the year goes on, but stay tuned to see what might come of this!
