BOOK READING ROULETTE
I got this idea from a beauty/ panning YouTube channel called Megsmakeup08. She has a really long list of prompts - like over 100 items - of different things to put into a roulette-style project pan. (If you're not sure what a project pan is, wait until January when more beauty posts start coming at you.) These prompts are things like "something you bought at Sephora" and "your least favorite blush" - something where you can narrow down something to grab.
I'm making my own list for a similar challenge I may pose to myself later in 2017. The general premise is the same in this challenge: write them all on bits of paper, put them in a bowl, decide how many you're going to draw out, and find a title based on that prompt. In case you're interested in doing something similar this year, keep on reading.
- Something with your favorite color on the cover.
- A title you had to read in school that you loved.
- A title you had to read in school that you hated.
- The first book in a series.
- One of your all-time favorite books.
- Something you loved in school.
- Something you've read more than once but gotten more out of each time.
- A book from your favorite genre.
- A book you've heard good things about but haven't read.
- A book not in your current collection.
- A book that's been on your shelf for a while but you haven't read.
- A book that's not in your favorite genre but you're still intrigued by.
- Something with ghosts involved.
- A nonfiction title.
- A fantasy novel.
- Something by an author you haven't liked before.
- Something by an author you love.
- A work by a beloved author that you haven't read yet.
- A recent release.
- Something that's considered a classic that you haven't read yet.
- A release that's relevant to your line of work. (for example, I work in a museum, so either something related to the museum's focus or to the Professional Museum field)
- A novel that's been hyped up that you're not excited for.
- A collection of short stories.
- A collection of poems.
- A work that was released in the same year you were born. Bonus points if it was your birth month.
I may add to this as the year goes on, but stay tuned to see what might come of this!
