RIP it or Ship it tag

In case you've never seen this around YouTube or book blogs, the Rip It or Ship It tag is where you take the names of several book characters, put them in two jars (or cups or pails), and draw one from each container. Then you decide whether those two characters would work in a relationship (ship it) or not (rip it). Let's get into it.

SCARLET (Scarlet, book 2 of the Lunar Chronicles) + HARRY POTTER (duh)
I feel like Scarlet is a little like Ginny (daring, works hard for what she believes), but I don't think she and Harry would work out. They'd definitely bond over the shared experience of Being Hunted by Bad Guys, but I don't think they'd do well romantically because, you know, Trying not to Die. Rip it!

HEATHCLIFF (Wuthering Heights) + MIRIAM (All Souls Trilogy)
Given that Miriam has a great Asswad Detector, and Heathcliff is one of the biggest asswads in literature, I can never see this happening. Rip it.

PEONY + KAI (both from Cinder)
You know, I could see Kai giving Peony a chance because he's nice. I would want them to work out, especially because Peony is the BIGGEST FANGIRL EVER. so.... ship it??

WALTER HARTRIGHT (The Woman in White) + NICK CARROWAY (The Great Gatsby)
Rip it. Walter's too straight to even consider dating Nick. Nick might want to date Walter, I don't know. But Walter's too busy trying to exact vengeance to care.

DIANA BISHOP (All Souls Trilogy) + ARTHUR DENT (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
Diana at the start of A Discovery of Witches would definitely get along with Arthur. Maybe with their character development it might work... maybe more as friends, but maybe I'm just too hung up with Diana/Matthew as my OTP. So... Rip It.

ANATHEMA DEVICE (Good Omens) + ELIZABETH BENNET (Pride and Prejudice)
I could see this working. They're both smart and offbeat enough to work with the relationship, and Lizzie's patient enough to deal with Anathema's extra layers of... oddness. Ship it.

CATHERINE EARNSHAW (Wuthering Heights) + SCOUT (To Kill a Mockingbird)
Catherine would think the relationship is great, but Scout would hate it. Scout would probably want to stay to learn about other people, but all she'd learn is that other people are awful. Rip it.

MARIAN HALCOMBE (The Woman in White) + RON WEASLEY (Harry Potter)
Marian is the Hermione of Woman In White, and Ron would be good for being supportive as she figures things out. I could see them getting together if Ron grew up a bit more. Ship it.

Mr. DARCY (Pride and Prejudice) + MATTHEW DE CLERMONT (All Souls Trilogy)
If both of them were into guys, I could see them going for each other initially, but not for a long-term thing. Both these characters are the "strong and tall and silent" type, but that means there would be absolutely no communication in their relationship and everything would go to shit real fast. Rip it.

BERTHA MASON (Jane Eyre) + VOLDEMORT (Harry Potter)
I feel like Bertha could be like Bellatrix except not interested in Voldemort at all. Voldemort doesn't feel love. Rip it.

EDWARD ROCHESTER (Jane Eyre) + HERMIONE GRANGER (Harry Potter)
I think Rochester would be into this. If Hermione were in Jane's situation, she'd figure everything out in about two days and leave for her own safety, whether or not she was into Rochester. Rip it.

CINDER (Cinder) + WOLF (Scarlet)
I could maybe see them working out, but I haven't quite finished Scarlet, so that might have an impact on my opinion of Wolf. So ship it until further notice.
