18 by 2018 update 1

Welcome to an update for my 18 by 2018 project pan! This was intended to be a quick use-it-or-lose-it project, and so it has been! I'll start with the things I finished, then the declutters, and then the things I just have progress on.

I finished seven products: the Smashbox Radiance Primer Sample, the Nyx Stay Matte but Not Flat Powder foundation, Mary Lou Manizer, the Urban Decay anti-aging eyeshadow primer sample, the Bite Beauty Matte Lip Crayon in Aubergine, the Etat Libre Perfume sample in "like this," and the First Aid Beauty moisturizer.
I would consider repurchasing the Nyx powder Foundation, but I'm leaning more towards a liquid foundation if I wear a foundation at all. I might try their setting powders.
I would also consider repurchasing the anti-aging eye primer, but only if the Wet n Wild eye primer gets discontinued. Both are great formulas, but my wallet says to go with Wet n Wild.
I might also repurchase the Mary Lou Manizer, but I'll hold off on that for a little while. Unfortunately, this broke, and I have plenty of highlighters, so the repurchase would be purely nostalgic - Mary Lou was the first highlighter I owned. It's disappointing that it broke, but I only used it a few times this year, so I should hold off for now.
I wouldn't say no if someone gifted me the Etat Libre perfume, but it's not on my Christmas list. It was nice, but I'm trying to downsize my collection, so I'm only looking for absolute favorites.
I definitely wouldn't repurchase the Smashbox Radiance Face Primer. I'm not a fan of Radiance primers - they get too glittery for me. This wasn't as glittery as the Elf one I panned earlier this year, but it's definitely not my favorite. I'm here for wear time and matte primers.
The Bite Beauty Matte Lip Crayon in Aubergine has a great amount of progress, which I'm super happy about. I love the formula and I really like the color, but it needs a lot of reapplication during the day. This came in a set, but at this point I might not repurchase the full size - the cost per gram is not worth it for me.
Because the First Aid Beauty Moisturizer's packaging is opaque, I couldn't see how far I'd gotten on it until I tried to use it on Saturday and nothing came out. I'd consider purchasing it again, but I might hesitate on that. I like the formula a lot, but I don't know if I'd be willing to pay $24 again.

I decluttered four things from this project: theBalm springs blush sample, the Vanilla Bean Noel Body Cream from Bath and Body Works, and the Shiro eyeshadow samples in hut two three four and war of five armies. I just don't really wear green eyeshadow, and the war of five armies was a little too dark for me. While I like the tone and color of the blush, this is way too pigmented for me. Again, I love the color, but I didn't love looking like I put my makeup on in the dark. I won't be purchasing the full size of any of these. The Vanilla Bean Noel is just too strong in scent, so I really don't need it in my life.

Now for the items that I've only made progress on.

The Pixi By Petra Blacknoir eyeliner is a staple, since black eyeliners are always really good to have on hand. I definitely think I'll finish by the end of the project.
I can't tell how much wear there has been on the Beauty For Real 24 Karat Eyeliner. It's a great formula, but I haven't been using it much. I may declutter this if I don't finish it by the end of the year.

The Pretty Vulgar Twisted Tiles Brow Pomade is not my favorite. I just got the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, and this is just ridiculously dry by comparison. The color is a perfect match, and I want to hit pan by the end of the project, but I won't repurchase. (Seriously, if you're going for pomades, do Anastasia. It's cheaper and a better formula.)
The Nyx Brick House Lip Liner has made some progress. I haven't been wearing this as much as I should. When I do, it's as a standalone color rather than outlining for other colors.
The Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen hasn't been worn as much as it should. I really love the formula, and I'll probably wear it more when the Aubergine is done.
The Jersey Shore Cosmetics Peppermint Balm is the lip product I've worn the least, but it's getting colder so I'll probably wear it more in the coming month.
The Bath and Body Works Frosted Wonderland Hand Cream has been on my desk at work to be reapplied at least twice a day. I like the scent, and hopefully I'll be able to use it up by the end of the year. I like where I am with my progress.
